๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Vision & Eye Clinics

In addition to hosting The Flying Samaritans, the San Felipe Lions Club organizes several eye and vision clinics throughout the year. Our Vision Co-Chairs regularly visit local schools to help teachers identify students who may need eye exams or corrective lenses. Thanks to generous donations, the Club operates a Slit Lamp diagnostic machine that helps detect cataracts, glaucoma, and other vision problems. We also use a digital lens reader to determine the prescription strength of donated eyeglasses. Before each clinic, a team of dedicated volunteers helps clean, sort, label, and prepare eyeglasses, ensuring that every pair is properly fitted for those who receive them.

๐Ÿฉบ Community Health & Humanitarian Support in San Felipe

Partnering with The Flying Samaritans We are proud partners of The Flying Samaritans, an incredible group of volunteer doctors, nurses, and pilots who regularly fly into San Felipe and other Baja communities to provide free medical services for local residents. During each visit, their medical teams treat hundreds of patients who otherwise might not have access to healthcare. The team also includes an eye specialist, allowing us to extend vision care and distribute free eyeglasses to those in need. Over the years, thousands of local residents have benefited from this ongoing partnership.

๐Ÿฅ Medical Equipment Donations

The Lions Club has distributed over $1 million worth of medical supplies and equipment to local hospitals and healthcare workers in San Felipe. Among these donations is a Data Scope Monitor, which assists in surgical procedures, along with a variety of other essential tools that improve patient care in our community.

๐ŸŽ Annual Christmas Giving

Each December, our members lead a Christmas Giving Drive โ€” delivering food boxes, toys, and comfort items to families and seniors across San Felipe. We visit local neighborhoods and homes, sharing the holiday spirit with those who need it most. Many of the elderly are among the most grateful recipients; seeing their smiles and tears of joy reminds us why we serve. Itโ€™s a tradition of compassion, generosity, and community connection that we look forward to every year.

๐Ÿ’› Our Mission in Action

Through healthcare partnerships, vision programs, and charitable outreach, we remain committed to improving the quality of life for San Felipeโ€™s residents โ€” one family, one patient, and one smile at a time.
